Introducing Occupational Therapy Servives

As we continue to find our Way to Grow in supporting children + families in our community, we are excited to announce yet another way to serve… WE ARE NOW OFFERING PEDIATRIC OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY (OT)!!!

What is OT?

Occupational therapy by definition means “the therapeutic use of everyday life occupations to support occupational performance and participation” (AOTA). Occupation is often referring to a person’s job— but the bigger meaning is any activity you do that has MEANING or VALUE!

As we think of the things that have meaning + value for kiddos and how that relates to the support of OT— it’s truly mind blowing! A kiddo’s day is full of fun, growing, learning, play, connection, discovery, creativity + so much more. It truly is BIG job to be a kid!

Here are just a few childhood occupations supported by ot:

  • Playing

  • Practicing skills for milestones

  • Learning + Growing

  • Performing self-care

  • Interacting with friends and family

  • Transitioning from one activity to another

  • Interpreting information from their senses

  • Using fine-motor skills for creativity, handwriting + more
